About The Position

Your Role As a result of a diverse Workplace client base and increasing project work with Clients throughout the Workplace sector, we are searching for a Designer with an interest in interiors to join our team in Seattle. As a Gensler Designer, your job will be to combine creativity and technical knowledge to produce functionally beautiful spaces for clients. You have exceptional design skills, a background in interiors or architecture, and a portfolio of innovative design concepts. You will collaborate with our broader design team to develop design solutions as well as coordinate the design through the construction documentation phase of a project. You will be successful because you already know how to translate an architect's sketches and documents into realized 2D/3D models and images, and can research artistic and/or technical issues when they arise. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field from an accredited school
  • 2-5 years of interior design project experience
  • Outstanding graphics and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas throughout the process.
  • Portfolios should include well organized examples of design work during school as well as relevant finish palates, test fitting, working visualizations, and design documentation completed during internships or previous positions
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), SketchUp, and Revit highly preferred
  • Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications
  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on projects to hone your skills in programming, space planning, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration
  • Brainstorm interior architecture approaches to meet the Clients’ needs
  • Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lighting
  • Generate finish plans, specifications, and material selections needed for construction
  • Collaborate within our team structure to deliver the best work for our Clients
  • Partner with product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators to develop a knowledge of finishes and furniture
  • Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives
  • Participate in the construction administration of projects and review of submittals and finish samples
  • Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs
