Artisan Stoneworks is a leading marble and stone contracting firm with a 25-year history in providing custom stonework to high-profile luxury retail and residential projects. We pride ourselves on being a best-of-breed contractor with a stellar reputation in our field. Our craftsmen bring ideas to life, creating stone environments of unmatched quality, durability, and beauty. Our mission is to provide an environment of success where you can grow and reach your full potential. We are looking for a hardworking and dependable individual to join our team as a Designer for Vein Matching. This role is crucial as vein-matching is the practice of laying out pieces of stone digitally, ensuring that the veins of the stone match from one piece to the next, creating continuity in the overall layout. Your work will be reviewed by some of the most prestigious architects, designers, and brands in the world, making attention to detail and artistic sense essential for success in this position. As a Designer for Vein Matching, you will be responsible for managing the photographing and inventory of stone slabs for each project, ensuring compliance with our inventory system, and creating slab labels for photographing. You will monitor the quality control of photos and troubleshoot any issues that arise. Your role will also involve maintaining the inventory from the beginning to the completion of each project, setting up AutoCAD files received from the drafter to be compatible for import into the Slabsmith vein-matching program, and compiling directives from clients and architectural drawings to achieve the desired layout and aesthetic of the stone. You will nest stone pieces drawn in AutoCAD onto slabs photographed in the Slabsmith program to generate a virtual layout that meets client expectations. Additionally, you will compile a submittal package of the stone layout for client approval, rectify the stone layout based on client comments and final field dimensions, and prepare a fabrication package for the fabrication shop, which includes the Slabsmith generated stone layout and AutoCAD generated fabrication "slab ticket" drawings. A basic understanding of stone fabrication procedures will be beneficial in providing appropriate instructions for each job, and you will coordinate closely with the project manager to ensure project success.
