Keystone Engineering Inc. is seeking an experienced Piping Designer for a full-time position in Geismar, LA. The role involves working within a Capital Projects Team to create detailed design packages for construction, ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet project specifications and standards. The designer will participate in scope review meetings, generate initial scoping documents, and perform project walk-downs to gather necessary field dimensions. This position requires collaboration with project team members and adherence to client standards and safety protocols.

  • Participate in scope review meetings with engineers, operations, and maintenance staff to determine design package goals and deliverables.
  • Generate initial scoping documents to confirm tie-points, routing, and piping specifications & standards needed for installation.
  • Perform project walk-downs and gather field dimensions necessary to produce detailed design packages for construction.
  • Develop accurate and high-quality design packages including P&ID's, plans, sections, details, and isometrics using AutoCAD.
  • Generate Bill of Materials per dimensions, specifications, and quantities needed for procurement.
  • Collaborate with project team members on constructability, project schedule, and installation details to ensure successful execution of deliverables.
  • Take ownership of all deliverables and review drawings for completeness, overall quality, and adherence to standards.
  • Maintain orderly and organized project files.
  • Observe all client standards and safety protocols.
  • AS Degree from accredited Technical College or University in Drafting Technology.
  • 3 - 10 years of design/drafting experience.
  • Hands-on skills using AutoCAD and PDF Editing software.
  • Understanding of construction terminology and knowledge of piping systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, creative, organized, and solution-oriented.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Associates degree in CAD.
  • CADWorx experience.
  • Plant 3D experience.
  • Field experience.
