About The Position
MSA Professional Services is seeking a Designer of Engineering Systems to join our growing Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Team . This role serves as a primary designer on a variety of building systems projects and leads discipline-specific efforts on complex assignments. Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field
- 7+ years of specialized engineering design experience
- Wisconsin Designer of Engineering Systems License (required)
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles and practices
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and design software (BIM/CADD)
- Clear communicator with strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently and collaboratively
- Interest in mentoring and developing others

Responsibilities
- Lead design efforts for MEP building systems projects
- Perform engineering analysis, calculations, and system design
- Stamp and certify engineering studies, plans, and specifications
- Utilize BIM, CADD, and related tools in project delivery
- Support projects during construction, including observation and document review
- Conduct field investigations and inspections as needed
- Coordinate with internal teams, clients, contractors, and permitting agencies
- Mentor technicians and junior staff
- Assist with scopes, budgets, and fee development
- Deliver accurate, timely, and cost-effective engineering services
