( YouTube , Instagram , TikTok ) Position Summary: As a Designer I for Women’s Wovens, you will be expected to oversee the design and execution of product on a global creative season direction while fulfilling business needs under the guidance of the Sr Designer. You will design across all woven categories, taking lead in tech pack development and maintenance, as well as taking lead in fittings and owning the process from development through bulk stages. This is a creative position requiring strong familiarity with woven development and garment construction. You must be able to take direction and follow through with the work efficiently. Foresee and trouble-shoot any issues along the way with the guidance of the Sr Designer. Ability to multi-task, think outside the box, be open-minded and optimistic.

Requirements

  • 5+ years design experience within wovens
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent in related field required
  • Ability to multi-task, think outside the box, be open-minded and optimistic
  • Strong understanding of construction and design elements
  • Excellent time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong eye for trends and current industry news/development
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects with adherence to deadlines
  • Must be flexible to adapt to changing trends of business and corporate strategy
  • Work well in a team environment, utilizing strong communication skills.

  • Experience in Centric is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Work with Sr Designer and design team to research; develop concepts, colors, fabrics, and silhouette designs based on the global creative direction.
  • Proactively research and identify trends and techniques that align with the Calvin Klein aesthetic for future seasons.
  • Create a global wovens collection each season focusing on updates to commercial core pieces and fashion newness.
  • Incorporate woven trends, novelty and innovation into cohesive collections together with the Design Leadership.
  • Exhibit flexibility to accommodate emerging opportunities in the business and areas of acceleration in the calendar
  • Prepare all sketches and CADs for divisional digital presentations and focus on the follow up of each style.
  • Development of product with consideration of seasonal needs
  • Create Centric tech packs including design detail pages and BOM trim components. Working with tech partners to maintain these.
  • Assemble and maintain presentation boards for meetings, including Miro and CADs for Merchandising tools.
  • Organize and maintain design development including artwork, trims, and fabric headers.
  • Ability to work across multiple apparel seasons
  • Create strong cross functional and vendor relationships
  • Work closely and communicating daily on challenges and changes that arise during the development of styles.
  • Partner with the product POD team (supply, merch, rm and design)
  • Participate in weekly fittings by working closely with Tech, based on block systems and new seasonal complex styles.
  • Ensure all styles are to the highest possible standard, including all details, trims, and construction elements are considered.
