( YouTube , Instagram , TikTok ) DESIGNER , MENS WOVENS The Designer I – Wovens will assist to design and execute product on a global creative season direction and business needs under the guidance of the Design Director Wovens/Tailoring. Candidate will develop and produce woven/tailoring as per product strategy for multiple businesses from concept through to bulk. Focus will be on menswear.

Requirements

  • 5+ years design experience in menswear wovens and tailoring
  • High level fabric knowledge of wovens/tailoring, plus a strong technical understanding of fit and construction.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent in Fashion Design.
  • Ability to multi-task, think outside the box, be open-minded and optimistic
  • Strong understanding of product is a must.
  • Strong understanding of cut and sew including layer 2 knits, jerseys, functional knits, and fashion / novelty knits
  • Excellent time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong eye for trends and current industry news/development
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects with adherence to deadlines
  • Must be flexible to adapt to changing trends of business and corporate strategy
  • Work well in a team environment, utilizing strong communication skills.
  • This is a creative position requiring strong familiarity with woven development and garment construction.
  • Must be able to take direction and follow through with the work efficiently.
  • Foresee and trouble-shoot any issues along the way with the guidance of the Design Direstor.
  • Ability to multi-task, think outside the box, be open-minded and optimistic.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Design Director and design team to research; develop concepts, colors, fabrics, and silhouette designs based on the global creative direction
  • Proactively research and identify trends and techniques that align with the Calvin Klein Aesthetic.
  • Create a Global woven/tailoring collection each season focusing on updates to commercial core and Hero/Essentials.
  • Incorporate woven/tailoring trends, novelty and innovation into cohesive collections together with the Design Leadership.
  • Exhibit flexibility to accommodate emerging opportunities in the business and areas of acceleration in the calendar
  • Prepare all sketches for divisional digital presentations and focus on the follow up of each style.
  • Development of product with consideration of seasonal needs and different price levels
  • Create Centric tech packs including design detail pages and BOM trim components. Working with tech partners for block development.
  • Assemble and maintain presentation boards for meetings, including Miro and CADs for Merchandising Visulon tools.
  • Organize and maintain design development including artwork, trims, fabric swatches, and protos
  • Manage and adhere to a Time In-Action Calendar
  • Ability to work across multiple apparel seasons
  • Create strong cross functional and vendor relationships
  • Work closely and communicating daily on challenges and changes that arise during the development of styles. Partner with the product POD team (supply, merch, rm and design)
  • Participate in Fittings by work closely with Tech, based on block systems and new seasonal complex styles. Ensure all styles are to the highest possible standard, including all details, tirms, and construction.
