About The Position

F.E. Moran Fire Protection is seeking a Fire Protection Systems Designer for their Calvert City, KY office. Requirements

• Experience using Fire Protection design software such as Hydratec, AutoSprink, and/or AutoCad.
• Understanding and compliance with NFPA standards and other applicable federal, state, and local codes.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar degree; or equivalent relevant experience.
• NICET certification.
• Critical thinker with mathematical aptitude and strong attention to detail.
• Good working knowledge of hydraulic calculations and ability to read and understand construction blueprints.
• Ability to quickly adjust to a changing environment and manage priorities under time constraints.
• Flexibility to travel to client sites when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Utilize expertise in fire protection systems design to complete a successful installation, providing a quality product that pleases the client.
• Accurately and thoroughly prepare code compliant fire protection system designs within stipulated timeframes for a variety of fire protection projects.
• Produce fire sprinkler design drawings that maximize efficiency, meet code compliance and industry standards and specifications; perform hydraulic calculations to determine pipe sizes.
• Coordinate pipe and sprinkler locations with building components and other trades.
