The Designer role is an established performer that is responsible for creating innovative and user-centric designs for products, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, conducting user research, and translating insights into visually appealing and functional designs.

  • Work on projects and assignments as part of a large work team.
  • Effectively apply functional, process, and procedural or technical imagination to address business challenges.
  • Work with assigned directors, mentors, and trainers to develop a working knowledge of Mohawk's design guidelines, internal processes, equipment, and all product types.
  • Use artistic skills, design principles, and machine perimeters to develop technically accurate design files in response to design requests, specific instruction or generic brief, while maintaining acceptable lead times.
  • Engage in artwork reviews, mentoring sessions, and team discussions for continuous development and increased knowledge of practical design skills, company and industry standards, and internal / external design expectations.
  • Utilize various digital and non-digital design systems to create, modify, and develop product as requested by internal and external customers.
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders as needed.
  • Maintain appropriate documents, designs, processes, procedures, and policies as determined by work area.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • 2-4 years' relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • Experience using various design systems required (ex. Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator AS400, CAD, Nedgraphics, EasyMap, Tuft and Texcelle Software).
  • Understanding of design/color principles and concept preferred.
  • Technical knowledge of roto-gravure printing, digital printing, and flooring production processes preferred.
  • For colorist-specific role, must be able to pass a colorblind test.
