About The Position

GHD is growing! Who are we looking for? Aloha! Our US West Design Studio is seeking a confident leader to grow our successful team in the Pacific. GHD is looking for a Designer- Architect to join our Guam office. You will be a valued teammate, serving clients as we serve each other and strengthen our commitment to the local community in Hawaii. You will assist with the evaluation, design, and implementation of new buildings and building alterations for a variety of project types in the commercial, industrial, hospitality, healthcare, and federal market sectors, taking on a variety of leadership roles. You will work closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team, regional leads across the West, North America and GHD’s global network. You will develop plans and associated projects to architecture in all its stages, setting materials, finishes, techniques, and methodologies; analyzing data and information; and developing technical and financial feasibility studies. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Equivalent Level is preferred but not required
  • Minimum Experience: 3-10 years of documented experience

Responsibilities

  • Architectural Design: Produce multiple architectural concepts and prototypes to design a building or construction; design the feasibility testing approach and supervise its implementation to support the development and validation of architectural solutions.
  • Engineering Drawings: Create engineering drawings to support the communication, evaluation, and implementation of engineering solutions.
  • Engineering Solutions Design: Contribute to the development of, and implement feasibility testing of, proposed engineering solutions to provide feedback and data to validate the design.
  • Building Information Modeling (BIM) System: Help install, operate, and maintain a building information modeling (BIM) system. Participate in building- and construction-related measurements. Compile and update building/construction data, records, and base maps for future use.
  • Construction Advice: Provide professional advice relating to construction regulations and best practice with regard to the maintenance, alteration, and construction of buildings.
  • Building Surveys: Undertake building and technical surveys to determine the building condition and identify defects and associated risks.
  • Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
  • Feasibility Studies: Conduct feasibility studies from a technological and organizational perspective and document findings to complete cost-benefit analysis on implementing changes to business processes, products, or business unit structure.
  • Bid Solicitation/Request for Proposal/Tender Analysis: Analyze parts of the bid solicitation project requirements, and gather and assess information related to the feasibility of these requirements for the organization.
  • Client & Customer Management (External): Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems.
