This role is support Metrolink service at our San Bernardino/Riverside/South Perris, CA crew bases. The expectation is that this role will be on-site with flexibility to cover other crew bases in the greater Los Angeles area. As such, the successful candidate will be located in the San Bernardino/Riverside/South Perris area. Your future role Take on a new challenge and apply your comprehensive locomotive operations and supervisory expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside dedicated, knowledgeable, and dynamic teammates. You'll provide crucial leadership and ensure the safe, efficient operation of our locomotives and trains, making a significant impact on our service delivery and safety standards. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Project & Bid Management, Safety, Training, and Compliance), mentor and oversee our locomotive engineers and conductors, and much more. We’ll look to you for:

Requirements

  • Degree in Transportation, Business or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience or understanding of supervisory roles within an FRA regulated railroad environment.
  • Knowledge of FRA Regulations on Operating rules GCOR, Timetable and Special Instructions.
  • Familiarity with the physical layout and operation of the Authority’s rail system.
  • Locomotive Engineer Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring employees for compliance with regulations and operating practices
  • Initiating action for non-compliance in a consistent and fair manner
  • Managing employees and train operations to optimize On-Time Performance (OTP) and making recommendations to improve performance
  • Responding to service disruptions within your area of responsibility
  • Enforcing safety plans and maintaining a thorough understanding of operating, PTC, and safety rules
  • Providing comprehensive written and oral reports
