About The Position

The purpose of this class is to provide professional level interpretation services to assigned department or programNational Certification through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf and a minimum of three years' experience working as a professional sign language interpreter. These positions are located on the Catonsville and Essex campuses

Requirements

• a minimum of three years' experience working as a professional sign language interpreter

Responsibilities

• Serve as designated interpreter to full-time deaf faculty.
• Interpret at annual college events.
• Interpret for college courses taught by deaf faculty.
• Interpret for deaf faculty at committee meetings.
• Interpret for deaf faculty at ad-hoc meetings.
• Keep track of all hours and schedule.
• Team effectively with an agency interpreter when needed.
