About The Position

Redfin is redefining real estate in the consumer's favor by combining our own technology and agents to create a service that’s better, faster, and costs less. We're looking for a senior leader to help build a world-class customer service and support organization within our real estate operations business. As the Designated Broker, you are responsible for maintaining an excellent customer service organization, resulting in employees that feel supported 100%. This role will support agents and their managers in all aspects of the real estate transaction, while having the backing of a world class organization. You are responsible for each state’s individual broker requirements, as well as comprehensive broker oversight; overseeing contract and licensing compliance, training on contractual changes, maintaining relationships with local MLS organizations, and routine internal and regulatory audits. You are a leader in the market, collaborating with managers to establish and reinforce best practices surrounding license requirements and contracts to help drive sales. This position covers Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. The preferred candidate will reside in North or South Carolina and will require to be licensed in all four states (NC & SC to start). Any additional state assignments may be subject to change. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Designated Brokers.

Requirements

  • Leader: You're resourceful, decisive and hold yourself and others accountable. You've worked within large teams before and know how to integrate and motivate a team.
  • Experienced: You're currently a licensed qualifying broker with at least 250 lifetime deals under your belt (personal deals or deals where you oversaw as the designated broker), and 10 in the last 24 months. You've been a Managing Broker, Broker in Charge (BIC) or Principal Broker with experience managing multiple, actively licensed agents for two years or more.
  • Multitasker: You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can multitask efficiently across shifting priorities.
  • Educated: Bachelor's degree preferred; you can communicate clearly and write well. Must be actively licensed in at least one state with credentials to procure licensing in adjacent states. You will be required to maintain an active license in Florida. You will be asked to secure additional licenses as the broker team expands coverage.
  • Analyst: With your deep knowledge of contracts, you skillfully manage complex issues, proactively reducing exposure and protecting the brokerage from potential risk. You love technology and can bend it to your will to get the job done.

Responsibilities

  • Offer Real Estate Guidance and Market Expertise: Your real estate team will depend on you for leadership; you should be prepared to answer tough questions. You will be expected to fulfill all qualifying broker responsibilities as defined by individual State Department of Licensing guidelines. You'll need to maintain up to date knowledge and application of licensing guidelines.
  • Work with training and development to create local contract training for agents: Redfin continues to grow and add new talent to our Agent population. This role makes sure they are trained appropriately on contracts, as well as local rules and regulations, to deliver consistently great customer service.
  • Build local relationships and knowledge: You will travel to multiple offices and maintain face to face personal relationships with our agents to ensure any changes to local contracts are fully understood.
  • Agent Contract/Transaction Concerns: You take problems over the finish line; have a skill for drafting clauses, de-escalating issues. You’ll provide exemplary Broker guidance, and you'll efficiently remove roadblocks so that agents can get back to doing what they do best.
  • Maintain Relationships with Local MLS Boards: You're the face of Redfin; you’ll advocate when necessary and be a voice for our growing field organization.
  • File Auditing to Adhere to State Requirements: You love reviewing contracts and giving constructive guidance. You'll work side by side with local managers to make sure our staff is the best prepared, all the time.
  • Collaborate with Other Departments: You will collaborate with other departments to shape various programs and ensure that any changes to Redfin.com or internal policy changes are compliant with state and local requirements.
  • Change Agent: You will apply your licensing knowledge to Redfin's systems and processes and will recommend and implement change as appropriate. You will use your influencing skills to make change happen.
  • Leadership: You partner effectively with other leaders across markets to ensure agent performance levels meet Redfin and licensing standards (or to ensure exemplary agent performance).
