Job Summary This position is part of the Bargaining Unit Local 29. If offered a position, membership with the union will be required. Job Description DUTIES: Under direct supervision, to perform drafting and field work of a nature requiring basic skills and knowledge in the electrical, mechanical, civil, or architectural field. As instructed, prepares drawings, sketches and graphs of moderate complexity required for the development and completion of a project. Checks, revises or corrects drawings as instructed. Makes field trips, normally with others, for the purpose of determining layout and design and obtaining necessary information and measurements as instructed. Performs manual tasks as necessary to obtain or provide required field information. Makes necessary computations of a degree appropriate to the assigned drafting and field work. Prepares job material lists pertaining to his assigned work. Maintains job records and files pertaining to his assigned work. Performs other work related to the above as required or as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school graduate with basic courses in mathematics and either physics or general science.
  • As an Apprentice Technician or equivalent, must have demonstrated satisfactory performance, interest and responsibility in the work for at least one year.
  • Must demonstrate moderate skill in measuring, drawing and lettering.
  • Must demonstrate reasonable aptitude for making mathematical computations necessary to perform the duties of the job.
  • Must have a general knowledge of Company safety regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) and experience in MicroStation (preferred)
