About The Position

The purpose of this position is to provide technical support for engineering activities, prepare construction plans and specifications and assist the public. This is accomplished by performing intermediate drafting and calculations and basic design work; use of automated systems, research, gather and compile data, prepare reports, maintain project records, obtain and process survey data, inspect construction activities and other duties as requested.

Requirements

• Formal Education Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes. Level of knowledge equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency.
• Experience Over one year up to and including two years.

Responsibilities

• Regular and reliable attendance in compliance with given schedules is a mandatory requirement of this position. Schedules may be subject to change with or without advance notice.
• Prepare construction plans and specifications for construction projects such as streets, underground utilities and drainage structures. Prepare quantity summaries, gather and process survey field data and compile data for various studies; produce maps and drawings for public display; maintain project records and prepare reports.
• Perform additional duties as required to provide technical support to the Engineering Division. Perform construction inspection, serve on survey team, file and make copies, and compile and reproduce plan sets.
• Perform intermediate drafting and calculations in support of design activities; perform basic design work; accomplishes routine assignments; uses AutoCad, GIS, and other automated interactive programs. Complete drafting and design assignments by researching project records and utility maps, processing survey data, and performing calculations.
