About The Position

Position Purpose: The purpose of this position is not only to design and layout various ministry print and digital materials but also to supervise and provide creative direction to other graphic designers within the department.

Requirements

  • Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Must sign the Statement of Faith.
  • A degree in graphic design and/or five years of experience in graphic design is required.
  • Three years of experience in a supervisory position is required.
  • Must pass all required checks.
  • At least five years of printing design and prepress experience.
  • Basic design, layout, and composition skills.
  • Basic printing knowledge.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Able to work with a tight timeline with immediate turnarounds.
  • Able to operate a Mac and Windows-based computer and navigate Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Clear understanding and comprehension of the English language.
  • Knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, with the ability to teach others new tools that develop.
  • Able to lead and work within a team.

Nice To Haves

  • A Charis Bible College student or graduate is preferred.
  • Photography knowledge and skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and execute the creation of all graphic assets for assigned marketing campaigns across all six branches of the ministry.
  • Design and layout ministry publications, including newsletters, postcards, magazines, and other print materials, ensuring creativity and consistency within each brand’s style guidelines.
  • Prepare all projects for both print and digital distribution, maintaining the highest production standards.
  • Supervise and mentor graphic designers within the Creative Services department, providing guidance on design best practices, workflows, and new tools within Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Develop, document, and implement improved design processes and workflows; create templates and resources to support departmental efficiency.
  • Manage updates and maintain consistency across all six ministry brand identities in the branding guides.
  • Conduct research on ADA accessibility standards for web and digital design; implement best practices to ensure new digital assets meet accessibility requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments to define project goals, gather necessary assets, and ensure timely, high-quality delivery of creative materials while setting clear expectations on deliverables.
  • Recruit, evaluate, and hire graphic designers, photographers, illustrators, and other creative professionals, both staff and contract, as needed.
