About The Position

The Design Studio Intern will shadow Design Studio Consultants, learn the studio workflow and assisting with tasks that contribute to an exceptional homebuyer experience. This role provides hands‑on exposure to interior design principles, product knowledge, customer service interactions, enterprise systems, and the operational processes that bring the design experience to life. The intern will gain practical insight into how homebuyer appointments are prepared, conducted, and finalized within a production homebuilding environment.

Requirements

  • Are currently pursuing a degree in Real Estate, Marketing, Interior Design, Business, or a related field
  • Embrace a customer-obsessed mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional service
  • Thrive in a team-oriented environment and value collaboration
  • Able to work in the design studio office.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to move about work location.
  • Ability to drive/travel as needed.
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs.
  • Ability to observe details at close range and communicate information so others will understand.
  • Ability to transport and move up to 20 lbs and move as needed (for roles in Construction/Customer Service/IT/Land/Marketing/Sales/Studio).
  • Periodically works in outdoor weather conditions (for roles in Construction/Customer Service/Land/Sales).

Responsibilities

  • Assist Design Studio Consultants in performing their duties and responsibilities, including, but not limited to:
  • Shadow Studio staff and attend scheduled internal and external meetings
  • Observe and understand how to conduct a live video studio appointment and an in‑person final studio appointment
  • Observe how consultants build rapport with homebuyers and tailor recommendations to design goals, lifestyle preferences, and budgets
  • Learn how consultants collaborate with sales, construction, mortgage, and trade partners throughout the design and build process
  • Develop a working understanding of the KB Home enterprise system (HB1/JDE) as it relates to design selections and documentation
  • Review product selections and learn how the Studio experience adds value to the overall purchase process
  • Work closely with our expert team – learning the end-to-end homebuilding process
  • Understand how our proven business model – KBEdge supports our goal of being the most customer-obsessed builder in the country
  • Observe how our community (Construction, Customer Service & Sales) teams work together to deliver homes 100% Complete and On Time to every customer
