Stellant Systems currently has an opportunity for an onsite Design Specialist at our Torrance, California site.
Create CAD models and engineering drawings of products and tools with dimension schemes using GD&T.
Collaborate with engineering team to develop new products to design specifications, industry and military standards, design for manufacturing concepts, and continuous improvement objectives.
Independently design tooling solutions for the efficient manufacture of traveling wave tubes and electronics.
Lead assigned design projects by proactively collecting required information and using sound judgment to make decisions with minimal oversight.
Make drawing/model changes authorized by Engineering Change Notices.
Check the accuracy of other mechanical designer’s work.
Associate’s degree and a minimum of 8 years relevant experience, OR bachelor’s degree and minimum 6 years relevant experience, OR graduate degree and a minimum of 4 years relevant experience.
Proficient in the use of GD&T to layout dimension schemes, including but not limited to thoughtful datum feature application, hole pattern true positions with modifiers, MMB, runout, flatness, profile and parallelism applications.
Strong ability to use Microsoft Office products.
Strong ability to communicate and articulate design concepts both verbally and in presentations and emails.
Creo and Windchill experience preferred.
Familiarity with traveling wave tubes or vacuum tube technology.
Familiarity with space design standards and design for manufacturing.
