In our program, you will have the opportunity to own your own projects, participate in meetings, and work cross-functionally with other departments. GAF is looking for a Design Services/ Architectural Intern. The ideal candidate for this role is majoring in Design, Architecture, Construction Management or a similar field. This intern will support technical roofing application support across project lifecycle from specification to guarantee issuance, with an added focus on developing and enhancing system visualizations and renderings inline with current design industry standards. The intern will have a great deal of opportunity to learn, contribute, and develop leadership skills. This position is based in our Corporate location in Parsippany, NJ.

Requirements

  • Pursuit of Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution (Design, Architecture, Construction Management or a similar field) with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
  • Current Sophomores (Graduating 2028) or current Juniors (Graduating 2027)-only.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate complex information with clarity and precision.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and engage with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to participate from June 1, 2026 - August 7, 2026.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States, without visa sponsorship now and in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with visualization and rendering platforms such as Unity3D, Rhino3D, Solidworks, LumenRT, Revit.
  • A strong interest in developing a deeper understanding of the architecture and construction fields.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
  • Technical knowledge of building designs and architectural background is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Learn about GAF's Commercial Roofing business.
  • Understand GAF's Design Services team tasks and how they achieve business goals.
  • Collaborate within and across teams to provide technical roofing application support across project lifecycle from specification to guarantee issuance on real life projects.
  • Learn how to locate, review, and interpret product information through various sources including but not limited to GAF published literature, code agencies i.e. Underwriters Laboratories, Factory Mutual, and Miami DADE.
  • Support the review of CAD architectural details, product application instructions, and PV solar array installations to ensure compliance.
  • Assist in developing strategy associated with visualizations, renderings, and VFX capabilities.
  • Connect with contractors, design professionals, and GAF's sales personnel to confirm and obtain accurate registration information.
  • Provide support for the guarantee/warranty-related repair invoices to ensure proper compliance with manufacturer recommendations.
  • Provide cross-functional support for Sales Operations related activities associated with GAF contractor programs.
  • Explore and gain a deeper understanding of construction documentation and processes.
  • Participate in strategic initiatives and projects related to the continuous improvement of workflows and processes.
