There is no better time to join our exciting and fast-growing organization. We are currently searching for a Design Sales Apprentice. The Design Sales Apprentice will work with our Design Team Members to be developed to provide overall customer service, relationship and project management to custom builders, remodelers, contractors and their clientele. While in development, the Design Sales Apprentice will be the primary front desk attendant to meet, greet and direct customers. Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable team members with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 1. Perform all job duties with a safety mindset and drive the safe operation of customer visits to a facility. 2. Source custom builder, remodeler, contractors to build a book of business. 3. Prepare 20/20 designs for each customer order, utilizing existing drawings or creating new as needed. 4. Prepare estimates for the customer’s clientele. 5. Enter orders to the Moraware system. 6. Meet with customers for cabinet, countertop and accessory choices and lay-outs as necessary. 7. Drive each customer order through the Sales, Warehouse/Delivery, Fabrication, Installation and Administrative functions as necessary. 8. Visit on-site job installations as necessary to ensure quality of delivery and/or installation. 9. Communicate with the customer on status of sale and/or installation. 10. Interact with vendors as needed to resolve customer service issues. 11. Support accomplishment of goals within the sales plan.

Requirements

  • Outstanding sales hunting skills
  • Tenacity to build and maintain a book of business
  • Excellent project management skills, with emphasis on driving sales order to completion
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent ability to resolve problems while soothing the customer
  • Strong team player skills other functions (warehouse, production, administration)
  • Excellent conflict management skills
  • Ability to gain personal credibility with customers and team members
  • Good stress management/composure skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel in particular
  • Knowledge of and ability to use business IT systems
  • Desire to perform extensive computer work
  • Secondary education in design, architecture, construction management or business preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in sales project management, preferably in the building material industry with kitchen and bath design.
  • Use of 20/20 design software for kitchen and bath layouts required.

Nice To Haves

  • Stone industry experience a plus.
