At IPS, you will apply your knowledge, skills, and passion to make a difference in the lives of people, solving complex challenges related to pharmaceutical, biotech, and animal health research and manufacturing facilities. We are looking for a Design Project Engineer to join our team out of our office located in Burlington, Massachusetts. In this role, you will provide technical, managerial, administrative, and managerial support to Project Managers and Project Executives.

  • Supports the Project Manager in the delivery of individual projects, focusing on quality objectives, and supports the coordination of technical design disciplines.
  • Coordinates resources to achieve project goals.
  • Interacts with clients on assigned projects and promotes positive relationships.
  • Coordinates review and approval from the Project Executive and/or Director of Operations and communicates this information to the project team.
  • Works with the Project Manager to develop and maintain written project scopes of work and communicate this information to the project team.
  • Assists with the development and maintenance of project schedules and develops a working knowledge of the project budget throughout the execution of the project.
  • Develops a thorough understanding of contractually required quality in design and construction and supports quality assurance for the project.
  • Monitors design content and quality and coordinates design revisions for constructability and compliance with basis documents, schedule, and budget.
  • Works with Document Control to ensure that all project documents are distributed, reviewed, and stored to meet project and corporate requirements.
  • 3 years of engineering experience.
  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Expertise in computer operation for engineering design programs and computer-aided drafting.
  • General knowledge of system design and applicable codes in specific discipline-related areas (Mechanical, Structural, Plumbing, Electrical, or Process).
  • Registered Professional Engineer.
  • Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology industry experience.
