NV5, Inc. is seeking a qualified and experienced Civil Design Professional for the Water Resources Engineering Group in our Albuquerque Office. The preferred candidate will have a water resource/civil project background with experience utilizing AutoCAD/Civil3D for construction plan preparation. Knowledge of ArcGIS is preferred.

  • Plan production using AutoCAD/Civil3D software and techniques.
  • Creation of exhibits to accompany reports and/or presentations.
  • Ability and desire to continue to learn AutoCAD, Civil3D and ArcGIS.
  • Produce design and construction plan drawings from sketches, existing drawings, electronic images, and written and/or verbal descriptions.
  • Work directly with Senior Designers, Project Managers and Department Director to implement project design and production requirements.
  • Implement company and client AutoCAD/Civil3D standards and quality procedures.
  • Work closely with project team members, other departments, and sub-consultants to ensure drawings convey complete and correct information.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Be a part of a cohesive team and able to do various tasks as needed.
  • Knowledge of the principals of design and construction for water resource and related infrastructure is preferred.
  • Drafting experience and familiarity using AutoCAD and Civil3D.
  • Progressive responsibility for construction plan preparation including plan and profiles, cross-sections, grading and drainage plans, utility plans, and other related plans.
  • Attention to detail, and consistency - a great eye for drawing presentation is a plus.
  • Ability to independently perform multiple assignments with specific or generalized instruction.
  • Demonstrates initiative and acknowledges and accepts responsibility.
  • Experience with commonly used design standards and practices within NM including NM APWA and NM DOT is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and ArcGIS (preferred).
  • Availability to occasionally work overtime, including weekends, as needed.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrates 'best practices' techniques and a willingness to learn.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Knowledge of ArcGIS.
