About The Position

Design Professional I Non-licensed architecture staff having completed a minimum of 3 years of architecture related experience. Fully competent in all conventional aspects of architecture. Independently performs a variety of assignments requiring skills in all conventional aspects of architectural designs for projects of moderate size and complexity. Prepares project specifications, compiling and analyzing relevant data.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Revit required
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suites required (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Strong working knowledge of zoning and building codes, specifications, building /engineering systems and agency requirements (NFPA, ADAAG, FGI, OBC, IBC etc)
  • Possess a balanced blend of design and technical skills
  • Knowledge in the design process, construction documentation and construction administration
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to meet schedule deadlines and work within the client's budget
  • Excellent organization and client presentation skills
  • Passion for providing exceptional client service
  • Collaborative and professional work ethic
  • Bachelor of Science in Architecture or Bachelor of Architecture degree from an accredited university preferred
  • A minimum of three years of architecture related experience

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with Sketchup and Rhino preferred. Lumion, Enscape, and V-Ray is a plus
  • Master of Architecture preferred

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the production of finished plans, specifications and approval of materials and construction on small to moderate sized projects
  • Assist in coordination of the planning and development of construction and design document production; provide technical support to ensure coordinated and high-quality documents
  • Perform analyses of design, planning and occupancy studies, and limited design layouts
  • Participates in the creation and review projects reports, estimates, calculations, specifications, and compile/analyze relevant data
  • Perform construction administration duties, such as site visits, RFI responses, submittals, and punch list reviews
  • Participate in project coordination meetings
  • Provide guidance for less experienced project associates and interns
  • Involve explorations of subject area, definition of scope, selection of items for investigation, and development of novel concepts and methods
  • Contribute innovative design ideas that consistently capture the intended design vision
  • Contribute to bold design solutions that balance scale, aesthetics, and context to maximize the impact to the individual and community
