SUMMARY Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Design Phase Engineer II to translate owner’s project expectations into design drawings, specifications, and schedules, and provide financial cost documentation. Strong communication skills are necessary as you will coordinate with staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment. Your ability to remain flexible, inventive, dedicated, and efficient with a high level of integrity and confidentiality is vital to your success in this role. RESPONSIBILITIES Provide meaningful recommendations to project’s programming and conceptual design activities, ensuring constructability and logistics solutions in project design Coordinate with integrated construction team to incorporate BIM/VDC modeling technology into project design phase Assist with project proposal development Prepare bid packages and contract manuals for subcontractors and suppliers in conjunction with project planning team Analyze and track LEED requirements Coordinate document and electronic interface processing Identify and resolve technical design and specification concerns Other duties as assigned Model and set the tone for extraordinary customer relations Gathering feedback and clarification during design process, and identify future projects QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, Estimating, or equivalent field Minimum four years relevant experience Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills Detail orientation sufficient to organize and handle multiple project tasks Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices Microsoft Office, Project, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level Positive professional attitude, and strong customer service skills Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies to employees and outside parties Open to change based on diverse input and feedback Effectively work with those of diverse backgrounds and at all levels of the organization Adaptive, effective communication and active listening skills Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity, Affirmative Action, and inclusive behaviors Consistent record of including diverse members when assigning challenging and high-profile tasks ABOUT MORTENSON As a top builder, developer, and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction), our expertise spans markets like sports, renewable energy, data centers, healthcare, and more.
