About The Position

The Design Ops Director at Aon Corporation is responsible for leading the design operations team, ensuring efficient design delivery, and managing day-to-day design processes. This role involves strategic contributions to design governance, project management, and measuring the impact of design initiatives. The director will work closely with design leadership and the centralized design team to optimize workflows, document processes, and enhance collaboration across teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in UX Design or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Product or UX Design with a focus on Design Systems.
  • 4+ years of experience in a Design Operations role.
  • 2+ years of experience leading a creative team.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and design software such as Figma, Miro, and Confluence.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the intake and prioritization of design projects.
  • Manage design governance and project management processes.
  • Document frameworks and standard processes for consistent quality.
  • Create and manage a standardized document repository.
  • Define and track KPIs for operational efficiency of the design team.
  • Encourage knowledge sharing and collaboration across teams.
  • Design and implement onboarding processes for new hires.
  • Own the design system backlog and manage design asset repositories.
  • Coordinate design team rituals, including peer reviews and capacity meetings.
  • Document and socialize success stories from design initiatives.
  • Facilitate Design Thinking sessions, skills training, and workshops.
  • Manage external design partners to ensure compliance with the Design System.
  • Oversee internal project management using tools like Monday.com.
