About The Position

Perini Management Services Inc., a Tutor Perini Company, is seeking a Design Manager-Construction to join our office in Framingham, MA. As a Design Manager-Construction at Perini Management Services, reporting to the Operations Manager you will have the opportunity to manage and oversee design-build projects(s), lead and coordinate the development of design-build projects, and manage company design-build proposals, programs and or projects both at the home and at the project locations. You will lead, oversee and coordinate subcontractor Architecture/Engineering firms – all disciplines, develop and manage design schedules to ensure timely design submissions, and review design-build submittals including phased design documents, released for construction plans, and working drawings for contract compliance and constructability issues. You will also coordinate design development and design reviews with construction subcontractors to optimize the efficiency and economy of the design, prepare contract drawing and specification packages in conjunction with the Design Team, and identify permitting requirements and manage the development of pre-construction permitting. Additionally, you will represent the company in project meetings, manage project risk, coordinate and develop conceptual and proposal stage design packages, administer all aspects of the Contract through the design stage, and develop and train junior staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer or Architect Registration is a plus.
  • 10+ years of cumulative experience in design and/or construction management.
  • Federal project experience required.
  • Design/Build project experience required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting complex construction contract plans.
  • Proven leadership and organizational capacity.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
