About The Position

The fashion design internship offers the opportunity to participate in the full design process, from early concept exploration to final product reviews. You’ll support trend research, design execution, and materials development while gaining valuable experience working with design and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Fine Arts, or a related creative field – graduating in 2026 or 2027 .
  • Ability to be on-site in our New York City office through June 1 – August 7, 2026.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience creating CADs, mood boards, or design sketches.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated interest in fashion, product creation, and retail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, hybrid environment.
  • Curiosity, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn.
  • A genuine interest in the aesthetics and values of J.Crew.
  • A design project will be required during later stages of recruitment process.

Responsibilities

  • Research seasonal trends, colors, prints, and fabrics to support concept and collection development.
  • Assist in creating design boards, sketches, and CADs used throughout the design process.
  • Collaborate with design, merchandising, and sourcing teams to support development milestones.
  • Participate in fittings, sample reviews, and meetings to help inform design decisions.
  • Support fabric and trim sourcing by organizing materials and gathering inspiration.
  • Contribute to the preparation of seasonal design presentations that communicate brand direction.
  • Provide creative and organizational support on real design projects throughout the 10-week program.
