Supports the Design Team in the planning and execution of aviation design projects.
Requirements
Pursuit of or fulfillment of a Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in design or related discipline from a four-year College or university; related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Employees working on programs subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations must qualify as a US Person which is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company/foreign government/foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee for legal compliance purposes.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and design software such as Adobe Suite (Photoshop) and AutoCAD.
Demonstrated ability to hand-sketch and communicate creative design ideas.
Ability to work well independently and cross-functionally as part of a team.
Strong communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to sit for extended periods of time, use hands to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and have close/color vision ability to adjust focus.
Responsibilities
Assists the Design Team in performing the following: organizing the material library, preparing presentation boards, printing presentation materials, updating the portfolio wall, and coordinating with suppliers.
Supports preparing illustrations for proposal and program (i.e. colored deck plans, elevations).
May assist in the creation and on-going updates to the Material and Furnishing Identification Sheets (MIDS/FIDS) for programs, including the Clipping for Approval (CFA) folders and associated samples and mock-ups.
Assist preparing AutoCAD working drawings from sketches and design specifications, and support redline updates to drawings, as required.
Contributes to a positive work atmosphere by displaying productive behavior and communication focused on building effective working relationships with customers, clients, co-workers and management.
Maintains regular attendance including being at work, being on time to work and working full shifts.
