About The Position

AECOM is seeking a Design Intern to be based in Orange, California. This position is expected to begin in Spring/Summer 2026. Requirements

  • Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in Architecture or a related discipline and must have completed at least three years of study.
  • Candidates who have recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with a master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions.
  • Graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.
  • Portfolio submission required to demonstrate skill set.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in architecture project construction documentation using Revit.
  • Proficient in SketchUp, Photoshop, Lumion, PowerPoint, Word and Excel, Adobe Illustrator.
  • Some knowledge of project design and construction documentation and materials.
  • Ability to work on multiple, fast-paced projects and documents.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparation of designs, quantity calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings.
  • Use computer software as a tool for solving basic architectural problems.
  • Maintain conformance with building standards, established architectural practices, and applicable building codes.
  • Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.
