About The Position
NEON is seeking a creative, detail-oriented Design Intern for the Summer semester. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting the visual identity of a leading independent film studio known for pushing boundaries. As an intern, you will collaborate with the creative team to develop compelling design assets that reflect and elevate NEON’s distinctive brand. Your responsibilities will include assisting with the creation of digital and print marketing materials, contributing to social media and promotional campaigns, and supporting the development of visual concepts for film releases. You will have the chance to explore a wide range of design applications from campaign ideation to execution, while working closely with experienced designers and creatives who are passionate about innovative, visionary cinema. This internship provides valuable real-world experience in entertainment design, helping you build a strong portfolio, refine your creative voice, and establish meaningful connections within the film and media industry. In this role, you will assist with the following:
Requirements
- Portfolio that demonstrates strong creative skills
- Genuine interest in design or pursing a BA, BFA or MFA in design or a relevant field
- Genuine interest in creative entertainment marketing of independent films
- Familiarity with NEON’s slate and how creative marketing shapes, contributes and builds momentum through press, audience response and box office performance
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable with cross-functional communication
- Comfortable using workspace tools (Docs, Slides, Gmail, Zoom, Box)
- Comfortable putting together decks and presentations
- Stays up-to-date on current design and social trends
- Interest in the intersection of design and marketing
- Applicants must be currently enrolled undergraduate students at an accredited college or university, or students actively pursuing an MFA, and must be returning to coursework for at least one semester or quarter following completion of the Summer internship.
