The Hardware Design Integrity (HWDI) department enables program execution quality and on-time delivery by ensuring integrity, compliance, security and process efficiency of our technical data, designs and systems. HWDI is part of the Product Integrity center, alongside Configuration and Data Management (CMDM). The Hardware Design Integrity department is looking for a high performing individual to be the Section Leader of the Design Integrity team. This position is in Tucson, Arizona.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) discipline
  • Minimum of 8 years of military hardware design & documentation experience
  • Experience with applicable standards (e.g. EDS, Program PDS, MIL-STD-31000, ASME Y14.100)
  • Leadership experience leading and empowering teams, projects or initiatives
  • Experience with common PDM / Windchill and Microsoft Office tool suites

Nice To Haves

  • General knowledge and understanding for following policies, procedures, and processes with a strong attention to detail
  • Experience with CAD tools such as CREO, and associated documentation and release requirements
  • Microsoft SharePoint, and/or Power BI experience
  • Experience supporting bid and proposal BOE development, active BOE certification and/or Standard Bidding Tool (SBT) experience
  • Solid competency in project planning and management
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with various engineering disciplines to ensure data integrity and compliance with configuration management policies

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of approximately 15 - 20 engineering technical support professionals who perform documentation practices checks, ensuring compliance to internal (e.g. Engineer Documentation Standards (EDS), Program Product Documentation Standards (PDS)) and external (e.g. MIL-STD-31000, ASME Y14.100) documentation standards
  • Work in collaboration with program & functional stakeholders (e.g. Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL), Hardware Engineers, Chief Engineers, Configuration Management) to prioritize and execute check task backlog
  • Drive continuous process improvement and standardization, participating in strategic planning, workforce planning, staffing and hiring, goal setting, performance development, and learning
  • Drive a culture of operational excellence, balancing quality, cost and schedule in support of program & customer deliverables and critical metric (e.g. On-Time-Drawing-Release (OTDR) & change object cycle time reduction)
  • Support the release and change of command media
  • Support the development of bid and proposal Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for Design Integrity scope of work
  • Present data visually to leadership to convey priorities and needs to support program execution
