Position Objective: Provide direct support to the Design Engineering team with a wide range of activities related to product design, tooling development, and engineering documentation. This internship offers hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, allowing the intern to apply classroom knowledge to real-world engineering challenges while gaining exposure to cross-functional operations including Quality, Toolroom, and Production. Essential Functions: • Support the Design Engineering team in developing and maintaining part, tooling, and gage designs • Assist with new product development and continuous improvement initiatives • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Toolroom, and Production teams • Maintain and update engineering documentation, including drawings and change management records • Gain exposure to manufacturing processes and understand the impact of design on production performance • Assist with troubleshooting design-related issues and supporting engineering projects as needed Qualifications: • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool Design, or a related field • Experience with SolidWorks (coursework or internship) • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills • Effective communication and teamwork abilities • Interest in manufacturing, tooling, and product design Preferred Qualifications: • Familiarity with GD&T principles • Exposure to CNC machining, milling, or turning • Understanding of tooling or fixture design concepts ITW is an equal opportunity employer.
