Discover opportunities to make a difference at RTX. This intern will support all activities in the Rotating Machinery Design Engineering Group. The Design Engineer is charged with engineering activities associated with the design, development, test, qualification, and production support of Components in Power & Controls. The Design Engineer supports hardware issues and improvements after program development and entry into service. This position is full-time, Monday-Friday, and will run May/June-August; it is only eligible for current students with a graduation date past August 2026. May be eligible for relocation.

Requirements

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

Hands on mechanical experience.
Prefer Mechanical Engineering major.

Responsibilities

You will be an active participant in Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT) including driving communication, risk management, and project requirements.
You will support both design and testing activities.
You will assist with organizing and executing several complex tasks.
You will support sustaining activities.
You will support cost reduction projects.
You will support mechanical, structural, and aero-thermal analyses.
