About The Position

Design Engineer Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) seeks a Design Engineer to serve as a Structural and Payload Design Engineer for our team in El Segundo, CA to focus on antenna structures. Position Responsibilities : Develop, integrate, and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design. Develop, maintain, and modify basic structural and interior payload system and component designs using 3-D CAD tools (such as Creo Parametric) and other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle. Validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Manage supplier development and test and production activities. Coordination with suppliers to optimize design and achieve program goals. Develop new design and analysis processes and tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort. Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements. This position requires an active TS/SCI U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Requirements

• Years of related experience: 3+ for level 3, 5+ for level 4.
• Experience using Computer Aided Design ( CAD ) software.
• Experience in Space Hardware environments, such as satellites.
• Experience with structural engineering , payload engineering , or systems engineering .
• Experience with composite materials and processes, such as honeycomb sandwich panels, carbon fiber layups , graphite layups .
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences).
• This position requires an active TS/SCI U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
