About The Position

Department: Water & Wastewater Reports To: Project Manager Duties: ? Assist the Project Manager in all phases of project design and project development ? Prepare various components design calculations with oversight ? Prepare various components of quantity calculations with oversight ? Prepare various components of cost estimates with oversight ? Prepare various components of plans with oversight ? Work and coordinate with other internal departments ? Assist in assembling Supplements, Proposals, and Engineer’s Reports ? Meet deadlines ? Alert Department Manager immediately upon realization of a problem on a project ? Prepare Cost Estimates ? Prepare various components of water and wastewater plans, specifications, and studies ? Review Quantities ? Assist with various phases of planning, design, and construction phases of projects ? Maintain the confidentiality of information regarding our clients and company practices ? Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, or ability to obtain within 12 months Registration: Engineer Intern in the State of Indiana, or ability to obtain within 12 months Experience: Entry level position Skills: ? Able to work independently with minimal supervision ? Possess strong communication skills ? Possess strong interpersonal skills ? Possess excellent organizational skills ? Able to work within a “team” concept ? Proficient with a computer and Microsoft Excel and Word and working knowledge of AutoCAD ? Must be able to attend evening meetings with clients as needed ? Must be able to prepare permit applications ? Must represent the firm professionally in public Physical Requirements: ? Able to work seated for 9 or more hours per workday ? Able to work 40 or more hours per work week, as needed ? Able to work outdoors traversing uneven or difficult terrain ? Able to travel throughout Indiana including overnight stays Other Requirements: ? Possess a valid Indiana driver’s license ? Agree to abide by the personnel policies identified in the Company Policy ? Designated as a flexible position as defined in the Company Policy.
