As an Engineer - Mechanical on the S-Series Engineering team, you'll contribute across the product lifecycle for our S-Series front-discharge concrete mixers—supporting new product development and testing, executing design improvements, resolving production or quality issues, and partnering with service to improve reliability and uptime.

  • Perform basic engineering calculations, investigations, testing, and tasks as assigned according to Oshkosh as well as general industry engineering standards and processes.
  • Support senior engineers in the preparation of basic plans, designs, computation methods, and/or reporting.
  • Work on projects of limited complexity in a support role.
  • Collaborate as needed with other engineering or business support disciplines internally as well as suppliers externally.
  • Maintain effective communication with suppliers, internal and external customers, and outside resources concerning technical issues.
  • Enforce the proper use of engineering criteria and drawing standards.
  • Evaluate designs for performance, safety, cost/weight, and reliability.
  • Perform and direct preparation of layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material.
  • Perform engineering analysis to support the selection of parts, components, and materials that meet requirements.
  • Provide non-complex technical assistance for production support.
  • Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations.
  • Utilize analytical and mathematical approaches to calculate or model system performance and optimize designs.
  • Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering and communicate status via verbal or written communication.
  • Create and maintain project documentation for project planning, requirements analysis, risk management, issues management, status reporting, project communication, quality assurance, research and historical records.
  • Perform job duties in an ethical, professional manner which is consistent with the Oshkosh Way.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field along with Internship experience or six (6) or more months of related work experience.
  • Accredited Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Mechanical knowledge of automotive or heavy-vehicle equipment and related systems.
  • Experience with a high level CAD system.
  • SAE or BAJA Team Involvement.
