About The Position

The Systems Group is looking for an energetic individual to be our next Design Engineer Intern. We are looking for someone to help with the day-to-day issues that pop up but to also be part of the big picture and contribute to the long-term strategy of our operations across the country. Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Candidate should be pursuing a degree in civil, mechanical, industrial or construction management
  • Candidate should have completed at least one year of the appropriate study
  • Candidate will have the opportunity to work for 40 hours/week during summer (full-time)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AutoCAD and Inventor is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Create pdf from .dwg files
  • Redline draft drawings - red to black lines from checkers
  • Fix 3D models from checker comments
  • Drop isometrics/spool from model
  • Build construction install packages.
  • Model 3D equipment
  • Model download/RFQ
  • Re-type specifications from client when mark-ups made
  • Annotate plans and sections (2D AutoCAD work)
  • Laser scan and use point clouds to 3D model
  • Visit field sites for hands on engineering
  • Learn pipe sizing and structural steel calculations
