Join Regal Rexnord as a Design Engineer III where you'll be part of the Climate Solutions Group - Motor Solutions Business Unit. We'll lean on you to design, improve and/or optimize products considering manufacturability, quality and cost with a thorough understanding of design tools and methods. You'll also review and approve work done by associate and other design engineers as well as solve problems with a thorough understanding of tradeoffs in problem solving to drive optimized designs. You'll lead in capturing voice of customer and development of product specifications and translate customer needs to manufacturing requirements. Create test plans and develops new test protocol for products or components, with a solid understanding of reliability and failure mechanisms. Communicate effectively with all functions: Commercial, Finance, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Quality.

  • Utilizing technical skills, transform customer wants and needs into commercial products.
  • Develop qualification and manufacturing test requirements for new products.
  • Lead efforts to modify existing products and processes to improve efficiency, performance, and quality.
  • Identify and lead cost out opportunities.
  • Assist Quality and Manufacturing Teams in analyzing and resolving field and manufacturing defects/issues.
  • Act as main point of contact for internal and external customers for technical inquiries.
  • Evaluate air moving systems and products by applying principles of airflow, FEA, mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and materials.
  • Confirm product capabilities by designing and testing methods to validate the products.
  • Develop air moving products by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods to design for manufacturing.
  • Keep engineering equipment operational in the Cassville facility by coordinating maintenance and repair services.
  • Design and develop prototypes to support different NPD and Concept development work needed to validate performance and costs.
  • Collaborate with NPD project manager to drive on-time execution and support throughout the project cycle.
  • Technical bachelor's degree in relevant engineering discipline with 3+ years of experience or Associate's degree with 5+ years of experience.
  • Demonstrated organization skills; preferably with working knowledge of the Regal NPD or other stage gate-based NPD processes.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Solid relationship and team-building skills.
  • Proactive, high energy and have proven problem-solving skills.
  • Some travel to manufacturing, supplier and customer locations may be required.
