About The Position

Lead, evaluate, design, and engineer projects and systems to specification on projects ranging from new design/build to rehabilitation of existing facilities and systems. Provide ongoing technical guidance and engineering issue resolution as needed.

Requirements

  • 4-year Bachelor of Science in Engineering Degree
  • 4 + years of practical Engineering experience
  • Active Professional Engineering License
  • Understanding of all MEP calculations and design
  • Advanced understanding of building codes and standards
  • Ability to develop and design calculation tools for Engineering Group
  • Knowledge of engineering and design techniques plus understanding of all engineering disciplines
  • Proficiency in all Design Software (i.e. CADD, Calculation Software, etc.)
  • Excellent analytical and technical writing skills
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment while adhering to project deadlines
  • Ability to lead discipline specific design efforts on medium-scale projects independently
  • Ability to develop design tasks and distribute amongst the design team
  • Advanced computer proficiency, including MS Office
  • Detailed understanding of BIM requirements
  • Detailed understanding of Project Life Cycle
  • Assume a leadership position in professional society

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the production of designs and review of existing designs identified in plans, specifications, submittals and shop drawings.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards, codes, specifications and design instruction.
  • Identify design, process and equipment options that can satisfy client requirements, minimize costs and limit potential operational problems.
  • Interface directly with other disciplines and coordinate with client personnel, contractors, architects, and other project team members to ensure value engineering and the delivery of high-quality projects within the prescribed time frames.
  • Make presentations when necessary.
  • Develop standards, methods, processes and procedures for reviewing, evaluating and inspecting designs.
  • Determine methods and solutions for complex engineering problems and identify the most efficient and acceptable resolution.
  • Coordinate with and/or direct virtual design personnel and junior engineers on assigned projects.
  • Mentor and provide guidance on designs and technical issues.
  • Coordinate/Plan on-site field surveys to collect or deliver design and engineering data.
  • Write technical narratives in response to RFIs.
  • Actively participate in project scheduling and budgeting.
  • Understand and assist with the input and output of accurate project data in Brandt systems.
  • Maintain timely and accurate oral and written technical reports regarding assigned engineering activities.
  • Perform additional assignments as requested/needed.
