  • Perform engineering calculations including electrical load analysis, short-circuit analysis, voltage drop, fault current, panel scheduling, and lighting calculations.
  • Prepare and review technical drawings, one-line diagrams, panel schedules, lighting layouts, and specifications using AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
  • Apply and interpret relevant codes and standards including NEC, NFPA 72, NFPA 101, California Electrical Code (CEC), Title 24 Part 6 (Energy), ADA, and applicable local building codes.
  • Design systems with energy efficiency and sustainability in mind, supporting LEED, CALGreen, and Title 24 compliance requirements.
  • Evaluate and select electrical equipment including transformers, switchgear, panelboards, generators, and lighting fixtures.
  • Develop and coordinate Revit MEP models in compliance with project BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) and company BIM standards.
  • Participate in model coordination and clash detection workflows using Navisworks and BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud.
  • Contribute to the advancement of the firm's BIM standards, families, templates, and digital delivery processes.
  • Serve as the primary electrical design contact for assigned projects, coordinating directly with project managers, clients, general contractors, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Participate in design, coordination, and OAC meetings to resolve technical issues and preserve design intent throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support construction administration activities including reviewing submittals and shop drawings, responding to RFIs, and conducting field observations.
