About The Position

This role provides early-career engineers with the opportunity to contribute to impactful site development projects across private and public sectors. Working alongside experienced professionals, you’ll gain hands-on experience in planning, design, and project execution while developing your technical and professional skills in a collaborative environment. Civil Designers at PRIME AE are actively involved in all aspects of site development design and project delivery. You’ll apply your engineering education to real-world challenges, from design calculations to construction support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EI) certification required or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • 1 years of experience in civil/site design; new graduates with intern experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong CAD design skills in AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, technical writing, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, project teams, and colleagues.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work both independently and in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of HydroCAD or HydroFlow stormwater modeling software a plus.
  • Surveying experience helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Support site development planning and design for private and public projects, including stormwater management, water/wastewater systems, roadway and parking lot layouts, grading, erosion and sediment control, and construction detailing/specifications.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, analyses, reports, and spreadsheets to support design deliverables.
  • Develop detailed design documents and construction plans in coordination with the project team.
  • Assist with permitting processes for commercial, residential, and industrial site development projects.
  • Collect, organize, and prepare field data, inventories, and assessments for evaluation.
  • Participate in proposal development and preparation of professional services scopes.
  • Support projects from feasibility through final plan preparation, including site and field visits during design and construction.
  • Use computer-assisted engineering software and tools (AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred) to complete design tasks.
