About The Position
Under direction and utilizing established procedures, responsible for the creating and developing product designs using SolidWorks. Evaluate design feasibility and ensure products meet user needs, cost-effectiveness, manufacturability and applicable standards
Responsibilities
- Analyze new and existing products in the areas of design, function, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Prepare drawings, Bill of Materials (BOM), Installation Operation and Maintenance Manuals, and technical documentation as required.
- Assess new applications/designs of products to determine feasibility of operation, manufacturing and application.
- Creation and refinement of mechanical parts and assembly drawings to capture design intent and adapt products to specific customer requirements and product applications.
- Communicate with other departments such as sales and marketing on the development of product modifications, new product development, and related marketing documents.
- Apply applicable ASME, NEMA, ATEX, ANSI, TEMA, CE, CRN or other codes and standards as required.
- Assist in the testing and debugging of assigned products in the shop.
- Maintain ongoing project requirements, schedules, and specifications for multiple projects in a deadline-based environment.
- Work with other departments to resolve issues with orders and/or equipment in the shop and execute Engineering Change processing to revise designs as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
