About the position

Czinger Vehicles is seeking a Design Engineer for the Body Systems team to develop innovative hypercars utilizing 3D printing technologies. This role focuses on designing composite body panels and associated vehicle systems, ensuring high-quality product development from concept through production. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to integrate hardware and manage supplier relationships, contributing to the next generation of Czinger vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Refine and generate new technical solutions for vehicle systems, including body panels and HVAC components.
  • Responsible for part and assembly releases throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Provide hands-on technical support during the development cycle and production build activities.
  • Manage parts and suppliers from initial concept through development and production, applying lessons learned for continuous improvement.
  • Lead Electrical and Software teams in the functional integration of hardware.
  • Collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, Vehicle Attributes, CAE, and other teams for system development.
  • Develop engineering designs, drive 3D packaging, and generate drawings using CAD tools.
  • Create supporting documents like specifications, BOMs, FMEAs, and DVP&Rs.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customer organizations.
  • Adhere to program timing, quality, mass, and budget plans.
  • Implement cost reduction methods and product improvements across teams.
  • Support supply chain team with sourcing suppliers and creating purchase requests.

Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience developing closure systems.
  • Prior product development experience with interior or exterior systems.
  • Knowledge of design requirements for high-quality vehicle systems.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting and root causing issues during validation.
  • Proven ability to deliver quality systems on time and within budget.
  • Ability to generate business cases for design proposals and provide recommendations.
  • CAD design experience.
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally with engineering teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with composite/lightweight materials and tooling development.
  • Experience with 3D printing manufacturing for prototypes and production.
  • Experience with interior integration of automotive HVAC systems.
  • CAD design experience with Siemens NX CAD & Teamcenter.
