About The Position

The Design Consultant at Floor & Decor is the entry point into design and is responsible for engaging customers on the sales floor to support their design projects. This role involves conducting design appointments with customers to determine their design needs in the selection of tile, wood, stone, and accessory products of various colors, textures, patterns, and designs. The Design Consultant will also partner with store leaders to maximize sales goals and expand the design services brand.

Requirements

• 1+ years of retail/customer service experience
• High school diploma and/or GED
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills
• Self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite
• Internal candidates must have a minimum of 6 months with Floor and Decor

Responsibilities

• Greet store customers in a helpful manner and support store design walk-in needs
• Schedule design appointments for existing and potential customers, while developing clientele through networking and referrals
• Provide tile, wood, stone, and accessories advice to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for both residential and commercial projects
• Design and sell complete, functional, and aesthetically appealing solutions
• Manage multiple, simultaneous customer projects through all phases with a high level of accuracy, timeliness, and follow-up
• Collaborate, partner, and communicate with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation
• Enthusiastically support all company initiatives and goals by modeling and coaching best practices with store employees
• Understand and utilize design applications such as Salesforce and proprietary Online Design Appointment Scheduler
• Perform other duties as assigned
