About The Position

Are you looking to launch your career in Building Information Modeling? NGi is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Design/BIM Technician to join our BIM department. This entry-level role offers the opportunity to develop your skills and grow within a collaborative, fast-paced environment alongside experienced professionals. Position Summary: As a Design/BIM Technician, you will support the BIM team in creating, modifying, and coordinating digital building models using industry-standard software. You’ll play a key role in interpreting architectural and engineering documents, producing shop drawings, and contributing to project coordination efforts.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Design or related field preferred — or 2 years of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with: Revit Architecture (2017 or newer) Navisworks Manage (2017 or newer)
  • Strong understanding of construction documents and BIM practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Positive attitude, problem-solving mindset, and eagerness to learn.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, occasionally noisy work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Create and modify families, templates, and parameters in Revit .
  • Run clash detections and navigate models using Navisworks .
  • Use Bluebeam to assist with drawing reviews and annotations.
  • Produce accurate shop drawings based on specific project needs.
  • Support BIM Coordinators with model updates and revisions.
  • Interpret architectural, structural, and MEP documents for model development.
  • Collaborate within a BIM/CAD team to maintain model quality and consistency.
  • Adhere to NGi’s BIM standards and escalate modeling issues when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support team and project needs.
