About The Position

The Design Associate assists the Design Consultant in scheduling, preparing, and following up with design services for Havertys customers. This role involves attending clients' homes with the Design Consultant to ensure proper furniture placement and color coordination, as well as recommending additional furniture and accessories as needed. The Design Associate will also assist with in-store engagements and appointments with clients, and may involve sales training directly on the sales floor to understand the customer engagement process.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in interior design or related field, or 2 to 4 years of related experience.
• ASID certification preferred.
• Must have a current valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Reliable transportation with verification of minimum state-required car insurance.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Room Planner software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office components and Internet software.
• Knowledge of full-shot image ware.

Responsibilities

• Assist Design Consultant and/or Sales Consultant by scheduling or attending qualified home visits.
• Visit customers' homes with Design Consultant as applicable.
• Assist Design Consultant with all aspects of in-home visits.
• Help build personalized presentations using approved templates and SWAGGER displays.
• Draw floor plans using Havertys.com current floor planner software.
• Provide feedback to Design Consultant and Sales Consultant after each house visit.
• Assist Sales Consultant with the creation of special-order SKUs and sales reserves.
• Create floor plans for in-store clients to help visualize purchases.
• Provide constructive feedback to Design Consultant to help close sales.
• Maintain knowledge of special sales, financing plans, delivery procedures, warranties, etc.
• Reinforce customer selections and help bring sales to closure.
• Use My Sales Center to access and follow up with customers.
• Maintain knowledge of a broad range of furniture styles and products.
