About The Position

The Design Assistant for Luxury Accessories at Ralph Lauren will support the Accessories Design teams throughout the seasonal design development process, from concept to delivery. This role involves assisting in various design tasks, managing samples, and contributing to the overall design workflow under the guidance of the Director of Handbag Design.

Requirements

• Multiple years of fashion design experience preferred.
• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Fashion Design preferred.
• Proficiency in Adobe Suite - Photoshop, Illustrator, XD.
• Ability to spec handbags, belts, SLGs, and hardware.
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize work effectively.
• Ability to adapt to new situations quickly.

Nice To Haves

• Italian language skills a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the Accessories Design teams in the seasonal design development process.
• Take direction from the design team and organize samples.
• Create and organize design boards and prep for meetings.
• Conduct color-ups in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Perform trend and inspirational research.
• Create patterns and 3D mock-ups of designs.
• Assist in creating launch sheets for bags, belts, and small leather goods.
• Support designers in creating and updating Adobe Illustrator sketches.
• Manage samples by organizing, tracking, and storing them.
• Assist in setting up and breaking down samples for meetings.
• Conduct market, trend, and vintage research to support design ideas.
• Maintain tidiness and organization of the design room.
• Assist the design team with tech packs and shipping samples.
