Design and Engineering Lead
About The Position
The Design and Engineering Lead position is an exciting opportunity to join PM Group’s quickly growing Boston area Outsourced Technical Services(OTS) team located out of a client site near Boston, MA. Outsourced Technical Services (OTS) is an integral part of PM Group’s ability to support clients across the complete project life cycle. We have over 50 years’ industry experience, strong technical knowledge and integrated resources. Clients look to us to provide experienced technical professionals that complement their project teams. Together we are sharing knowledge, learning, growing and continuing to be an integral part of supporting PM Group’s ongoing expansion in the US. We are seeking a highly organized and technically skilled Design & Engineering Lead to oversee design-phase execution for capital projects within regulated environments. This role drives high-quality design documentation, ensures compliance with internal standards, and leads coordination across architects, engineers, and construction stakeholders. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in the life sciences industry
- Experience managing design phases for capital or regulated projects.
- Strong understanding of LEED, sustainability frameworks, and EHS-by-design principles.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead development of User Requirements Briefs (URB).
- Prepare and issue Architect/Engineer (A/E) RFP Packages.
- Manage monthly A/E progress reporting.
- Lead Design‑to‑Value (DTV) kickoff activities.
- Manage Standard Design Platform (SDP) compliance tracking.
- Deliver Conceptual Design Reports.
- Coordinate sustainability/LEED planning.
- Complete EHS-by-Design reviews.
- Finalize General User Requirements Specifications (GURS).
- Manage weekly DTV workflows.
- Oversee SDP compliance for BOD.
- Deliver comprehensive BOD packages.
- Coordinate design and constructability reviews.
- Maintain sustainability documentation.
- Complete EHS-by-Design reviews.
- Ensure timely delivery of Construction Documentation.
- Facilitate weekly DTV coordination.
- Support constructability reviews with construction partners.
- Maintain design change management.
- Lead formal design review cycles.
- Complete EHS-by-Design reviews.
- Monitor and manage the RFI process.
- Oversee shop drawing and submittal reviews.
