About The Position

The Boeing Company is seeking innovative and adaptable Electronic Systems Design and Analysis Engineers to join the BGS CMM - Systems Engineering team in Long Beach, California. This position is expected to be 100% on-site and involves developing and documenting moderately complex electronic and electrical system requirements, designing hardware, software, and interface specifications, and testing and validating system designs to ensure they meet operational and functional requirements. The role also includes monitoring supplier performance, solving problems concerning fielded hardware and software, and researching technological advances for potential application to business needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • Willingness to learn and work as a team.
  • Good written and spoken communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail.

  • 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Wide range of knowledge in Systems, Software, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience working in an electrical design engineering environment with emphasis on electronic and electrical systems design and analysis.
  • Experience in avionics design and a background in related fields within the avionics industry.
  • Knowledge of FAA certification and airworthiness requirements.
  • Experience in test planning, setup, test development, execution, conducting tests in a lab or production environment.
  • Experience in performing design, integration, and/or testing on avionics sub-systems, performing environmental testing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and document electronic and electrical system requirements.
  • Design hardware, software, and interface specifications.
  • Write and perform test procedures in test bench, simulator, or certification flight test environment.
  • Validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.
  • Assist in monitoring supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with appropriate regulations and certification requirements, including RTCA, DO-178, and DO-254.
  • Solve problems concerning fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
  • Research specific technology advances for potential application to customer and company business needs.
