About The Position

This facility operates five days a week with potential for overtime, producing Sausage Patties, Roll Sausage, and Sausage Links. The Deshackle Labor position is responsible for inspecting and removing Gambrels that are not in good repair for quality and safety, monitoring production lines to maintain efficiency by starting/stopping the process, and loading carcasses onto Gambrels at the desired line speed.
Requirements
- Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Adhere to good safety practices, food safety policies, and company policies.
- Willing and able to lift/carry up to 50lbs occasionally.
- Willing and able to complete work cycles in less than 20 seconds.
- Willing and able to work on and around machinery and chemicals.
- Willing and able to perform tasks for periods up to 12 hours on concrete floor, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, and lifting.
- Willing and able to work in temperatures less than or equal to 35 degrees Fahrenheit for a minimum of 8 hours.
- Willing and able to work in a wet environment.
- Willing and able to complete cycles in less than 10 seconds.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and remove Gambrels that are not in good repair for quality and safety reasons.
- Monitor production lines and make decisions on when to start/stop the process to maintain line efficiency.
- Load carcass onto Gambrels at desired line speed.
- Set up the area with all needed equipment.
- Monitor production area for trash and food debris on the floor.
- Perform various other tasks as assigned by Lead person, Supervisor or Superintendent.
- Clean up the area at the end of the production shift, including sweeping, picking up debris from the floor, and spraying work areas.
