About The Position

JOB SUMMARY The Dermatology Technician I functions as a member of the healthcare team by providing clinical and technical support to assist providers in providing for patients’ care, comfort, and safety. The individual will complete basic procedures as requested by the provider and will assist providers with procedures. The Dermatology Technician I performs in a manner consistent with Marshfield Clinic Health Systems’ mission, policies, and initiatives while maintaining patient confidentiality. JOB SUMMARY The Medical Assistant - Apprentice works under the direction of a Medical Assistant mentor for on-the-job training to provide basic clinical, clerical, and technical support to assist providers in planning for patients’ care, comfort, and safety. The Medical Assistant - Apprentice performs in a manner consistent with Marshfield Clinic Health System’s (MCHS) mission, policies, and initiatives while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program
  • Documented successful completion of the following Courses or (their recognized equivalent): Medical Terminology from an accredited institution or completed on line through Universal Class Anatomy & Physiology or Body Structure & Function or Human Body in Health Disease from an accredited institution or completed on line through Universal Class Pharmacology from an accredited institution
  • Two years of Medical Assistant related work experience and completion of the required educational courses listed above within 12 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.
  • Enrollment in ICATAP MA Apprenticeship Program
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Keyboard, computer, and telephone proficiency.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
  • Completion of a Medical Terminology course.
  • Graduate of a vocational technical Health Unit Coordinator Program, Medical Office Specialist, or Medical Secretary.
  • Six months’ previous experience with MCHS or related entity.
